what size cake?
The number of portions you get from a cake is an art not a science. It's a bit like asking how many pieces you can cut an A4 page into. You could have 4 very big pieces or 48 very small pieces.
There are lots of opinions about how many portions you get from each size, and below is mine.
ROUND CAKES 3 layers
6" (12-16 portions)
7" - (16-20 portions)
8" - (20-24 portions)
ROUND CAKES 4 layers
6" (16-20 portions)
7" - (22-28 portions)
8" - (30-34 portions)
NB You get most from a cake when you cut it in a grid pattern rather than like a clock.

I work out the cost of every cake individually, based on the exact design, the flavour of the cake, the number of portions you need and the number of hours it will take to design, bake and decorate your special creation. I will work with you to find the best possible option for your taste and your budget.
Three layer cakes start from £62 for a 6" diameter, three-layer (approx 5") tall cake
Four layer cakes start from £70 for 6" diameter, four-layer (approx 7") tall cake
Bear in mind, it's cheaper per slice the bigger the cake. Smaller cakes are fiddly so can take just as much time as bigger cakes!
